Eliminate toxins and encourage the free flow of blood with cupping therapy, an ancient practice dating back thousands of years.

Cupping can also assist to reduce swelling and pain. The process of Cupping therapy involves creating vacuum-like suction through placing a cup onto the body – usually on the client’s back.

Cupping provides an effect of rejuvenation, as has many great benefits. Cupping therapy works to gently withdraw inflammation and toxins out from the afflicted area, while increasing the blood supply needed in stagnant areas to nourish the body and promote recovery.

Due to its ability to soften painful, tense muscle tissue, cupping has become increasingly popular amongst athletes looking to reduce their recovery time.

The result of Cupping therapy can be described as a deep warmth and tingling sensation that extends to well after the treatment has ended.

Moxibustion is often combined with Acupuncture, as the two therapies share similar principles and can accentuate the benefits of one another.

During Moxibustion therapy at Luciferous Traditional Chinese Medicine, heated needles with burning dried mugwort are gently inserted into pressure points on the body.

Moxibustion is believed to expel the coldness and dampness that can lead to muscular pain and stiffness, improve blood circulation, conquer fatigue and stimulate gastric functions.

Many clients describe the treatment as a calm, warming sensation that encourages deep breathing and a sense of relaxation.
